Myléne Poisson Sommeliére - Inspirational Artists

This artist uses a very unique way of designing her business cards, using circular objects. She uses the bottom of a wine glass to create a perfect circle but also gives it a slight smudge effect and also creates a nice hand made quality to the work.

Alphabet Design

I wanted to design my own font for this project as it will allow me to incorporate wave forms into the logo and the type. I did this over the half term and i also played around with a few colours, although not yet finished, i have a definite type font i want to use.

Are We Designer - Inspirational Artists - Project From Cologne With Love - -

I have looked at the work of a graphic designer who uses shapes and symbols as a container for the work he makes. I like the way he does this and this has inspired me to try it out myself.

Collaborative Practice #4

I found this weeks brief very enjoyable but did not manage to get a high quality of work completed on time, i have now managed to get the work all processed into my sketch book, but i need to work not only on quality but on quantity.

  1. Abels work this week has taken many different paths, not one design looks the same as the previous and so this broadens his work and which path he can go down for development.
  2. abel needs to work on quantity as well as quality although his work is all up to a very good standard.
I will take all the points made through the previous weeks and develop my work both through quality and quantity.

Collaborative Practice #3

This week we decided to experiment with volume and dimension. I tried out different ways of showing the way of the third dimension. Rather than actually making 3D sculptures I decided to play around with creating a space within the second dimension giving the illusion of depth on a flat surface.

  1. I think that Abels work has developed more so from previous weeks, his work seems to have taken shape although it doesn't really link with the project he is working on.
  2. Abel has used the same typography from previous weeks, showing that he has some kind of link between the different briefs.
I think i have handled this weeks brief much better than i was expecting, I will try to develop my work and link it together during the next brief.

Collaborative Practice #2

Focusing on the comments made last week, I tried to focus on the change in work style and so i developed my work towards the brief we were given this week, we again did a group discussion  on each others work and i gathered two comments on my work.

  1. Abels work has come along nicely, he had worked very hard on developing his typography and has played around with colour more so than his previous brief.
  2. Abel has developed his work, more so this week, however for the upcoming brief, he will have to develop his work and think of some very creative ideas as this will require working in the third dimension. Abel could add the colours he has found affective and used them in the correct way.
This upcoming brief I am seeing as a bit of a challenge, however, I will try to work on it and develop an affective 3D image.

Collaborative Practice #1

I ran through my project development with 4 of my peers and i gather 2 viewpoints that will allow me to develop my work to work correctly and appeal to a wider audience.

  1. The work has a large variety of style and the proportion works well throughout the development, he just needs to add more colour to his work and develop and discover which colours work best with his work.
  2. His work is all very good, if we were focusing on typography, however, he needs to work more so on scale and proportion as his work shows a lot of styles that all have equal height and width and so the work may need to be developed overtime.
I will use these comments to work more so on future projects so that I can get the correct typography, style and colours that appeal to a wide audience.

Jakub Caja - Inspirational Artists - Project Fonetic

I decided to look at the Fonetic project by Jakub Caja as it was appropriate to my store name (being 'Decibel') and so I toyed with the idea of adding sound waves into the logo/font style or as a small logo to my store and an iconic image to reference the store with

This group of artists have put together a very modern stylised web site design and I wish to create my music shops website to be more modern and very accessible for all ages, and sop this would require simple directions to different pages to be accessible to a generation which is not used to web pages with many links all over it.

Soda Interactive Studio - Inspirational Artists

During this project I will be rebranding a musical shop which requires rebranding of logo, colour scheme, packaging and i will also be including a web site/ web design and so i needed to find some type of inspiration towards that area of study, I looked on the behance network and instantly found a company with sharp design ideas and colours and i realised that if i was to rebrand a logo, it should also be appealing to the big wide world of the internet.

Krzysztof Nowak - Inspirational Artists

This graphic designer (like hovercraft) uses small imagery to represent a company name and logo, this would work great with my musical shop redesign and i would like to make it iconic in all the packaging and logo design.
